1. Easy tracking of tasks and projects that are ongoing within a team.
2. One can create sprint cycles for a project to be finished, and assign tasks to people accordingly, which can be further used to track the progress.
3. Its integration with Slack is a cool feature, one can receive notifications easily there, without having to open Jira, because Slack is an internal team communication tool used by a lot of organizations these days.
4. I like the drag-and-drop feature for a task - for example, we can shift a task from development to the testing phase, by just dragging and dropping it.
  • Project Management
  • Tasks tracking within a team by assiging and prioritising
  • Project ideation - along with task tracking, we can update the progress in the comment section of Tasks
  • Please provide a Jamboard, for creating a roadmap for Task
  • Overall Task analysis dashboard can be created for better time management in Projects
For use as a Project management tool, Jira has the go-ahead. It can provide a good space to manage and track tasks by assigning them to the people and deciding the priority.
When it comes to communicating a Roadblock, Jira doesn't provide a separate highlighted feature for it, we will have to write it down in the comment section and somebody has to read it, like how we have a separate section for brainstorming, development, and production, there should be a section for roadblock also.
  • Tasks progress tracking
  • Task priority order understaning
  • End to end progress of projects

  • I have worked with three organisations, and I have seen it being used extensively.
  • Project Management never felt better.
The user experience of Jira is better than Trello, Trello doesn't offer a Sprint board. And we have followed the Sprint mode of working in the Project management space, therefore preferring Jira. Trello is a more general-use Project Management tool, whereas we were looking for a better drill down of time and task management within the Project Management space. That's what has made us choose Jira over it.

In our company, we primarily use Jira work management as a Project management software where we are able to see all the project information at a glance. We can easily manage our projects and keep the team organized. Managing tasks and different projects in Jira starts with a workflow which defines our processes and enable our teams to track the tasks. Jira work management also have boards where we are able to visualize our workflows and drag and drop tasks from to-do to done.
  • Tracking projects and tasks of different teams.
  • Easier task management with statuses, comments and file attachments all at one place.
  • Everyone in organization can see a project's details at a glance without having to email or set up a meeting.
  • I love the updated Jira work management and I don't see anything that needs improvement.
Jira work management represents the solution that allows business teams such as Finance, sales or marketing to collaborate with technical teams within Jira. It has so many features like the List view, the Calendar view, the Timeline view, the Boards, Workflows, Forms, Project templates, Dashboards and reports and automation. Jira Core is very well capable of increasing productivity of the teams through centralization of information through these different types of views and the automation allows the teams to invest less time in configuration and more time in execution of work.
  • Different types of views like List view, calendar view and the Timeline view gives the team a clear picture of the projects and tasks and timelines.
  • Ability to create personalized workflows depending on our organization needs.
  • Creation of Forms is very easy, can be done by dragging dropping the fields, These are used to collect information from the team to achieve better coordination within the project teams.

  • Saves a lot of time to complete the tasks with Automation, by allowing teams to choose predefined rules from the automation library.
  • Increasing the Productivity of the teams.
  • Jira Service Management (Jira Service Desk)
The evolution of Jira Service Desk to Jira work management is accompanied by lot of new features like the List View which allows inline editing, easy column management, the Calendar View bases on extensible modal and state categories, the Timeline View supports tasks and subtasks, the Boards which allow the categorization of status and allow the visibility of subtasks on the cards, Forms can be created very easily, Project templates can be used based on the business area.

If you want to build a service desk for your company, Jira is a great tool for this job. You can link Jira to all your internal systems, which will allow you to use Jira as a service desk and also as a product development tool. Jira is a very flexible tool, which will allow you to configure workflows and ways to follow up on requests. With Jira, you can also track your time spent in order to have better time/money management.
  • Custom reporting.
  • Automation rules.
  • Integration.
  • Very good documentation.
  • Easy to use.
  • Good support.
  • Mobile app of Jira need to improve.
  • It is little difficult when comes to configuration.
With Jira Service Management (Jira Service Desk), the biggest advantage is the ability to easily follow up and fix any issues that are raised. I also like that I can create different entry points (customers, partners, internal users, ...) and different types of requests (like product changes, feedback, product bugs or issues, operational requests, ...) and I can have different workflows for each request type. The customization and integration options are really powerful and the flexible workflows are a big plus for the product.

Collaborate with the other business teams on the same project topic, which is usually highly multi-functional in nature. It helps keep everyone on the same page, provides wider visibility, and provides for an efficient workspace to collaborate through status fields and messaging/commenting features. This helps keep us well-organized for our projects through the various stages, and also helps us provide a single pane for our review calls for the operating committee.
  • Create projects that can be shared with the wider team across organization.
  • Set deadlines and set assignees for the tasks.
  • Customized fields to capture information that is not already present by default.
  • Tighter control over notifications to prevent flooding of inbox.
  • Nesting or shifting of tasks and projects is not super intuitive.
  • Integrations with Slack end up flooding the channel and make it difficult to have chat on the channel.
We use it for managing task planning and reviewing their status between the teams as it moves through the execution phases. We use it in addition to Asana because some functionalities are visually more powerful in Asana, but at the same time, Asana lacks some of the organizational features and integration that Jira has. Hence our internal solution is dependent on using both Asana and Jira together, with Jira being the stronger of the two. However, based on your organizations' workflow, either could suffice but I'd give higher preference to Jira for the feature set it carries.
  • Project definition for planning and executing.
  • Setting of project deadlines.
  • Assigning responsibilities to projects or tasks.

  • Reduction in open issues or bugs affecting user experience.
  • Faster velocity of development tasks moving between teams.
  • Time tracking of resources for cost management and reporting.
Jira is quite intuitive to use. It has a bit of a learning curve, but that solely depends on how your organization has set it up in the first place. That could be really simple or a bit more complicated depending on how the admin has defined the workflow, accesses, etc. That said, Jira can provide all much-needed functionality for you to start collaborating between teams and departments within your organization on common projects.

We use Jira Work Management (Jira Core) as a task and project management tool for the marketing team. In it, we centralized all the demands (internal and external) of the marketing team. We also chose Jira because it was the solution chosen by the company's development teams, and in our situation, the integration made a lot of sense.
  • Task and project management.
  • Alignment between teams.
  • Demand management.
  • Ease of use for non-technical teams.
I believe that Jira is a bit too robust a solution for non-technical teams that have never had contact with task and project management tools. Which ends up requiring more adaptation and a longer learning curve when compared to technical teams that are already more familiar with all Jira features and specifics.
  • Demand management.
  • Project management.
  • Centralization of demands and tasks.
